Viewers Validated, Tracked through the Accordent Media Management System™

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 23, 2009 – Accordent Technologies today announced new publishing capabilities for its award-winning enterprise webcasting platform that now enable organizations to use the Akamai Platform to make live or on-demand webcasts available to authorized viewers outside the corporate network.

The integration of the Accordent Media Management System (AMMS) with Akamai ‘s Secure Streaming ensures that important audiences - such as sales, travelling executives, remote employees, and external constituents - can now use VPN or mobile connections to access webcasts using the same secure authentication process as other users on the corporate network.

The solution relies on the user authentication and tracking capabilities provided by the AMMS, Accordent’s award-winning rich media management platform. When integrated with enterprise LDAP or Active Directory services, the AMMS enables organizations to ensure that only authorized users gain access to the content for which they have assigned privileges.

Viewers can then launch content served by Akamai’s platform in a way that only provides access to authorized users and prevents browsing from other sources. Protection can be provided for both live events and on-demand archives or presentations and extends to all elements of the rich media presentation - from streaming media to static content - such as slide images, documents or transcripts.
