New York Network Launches Accordent Online Rich Media Communications and Training Platform

New York State Agencies, Universities and Organizations to Use Cost-effective, Green Technology for Staff Development and Professional Certification

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., – August 20, 2009 – New York Network (NYN), a service of the State University of New York (SUNY), today launches a new, online video-based training and communications system that leverages the Accordent rich media creation and management suite of products, Accordent today announced.

NYN designed the solution, called the Video Interactive Educational Webinar Service (VIEW), to enable state universities and agencies - as well as private-sector firms in the medical, legal and business communities across New York State - to meet mounting training requirements without requiring the time, expense and environmental impact of employee travel.

The NYN VIEW service comprises three Accordent PresenterPRO™ systems, each located at one of NYN’s three studios, to deliver highly scalable live, rich media webcasts that include video synchronized with graphics and the ability for audiences to use live chat to interact with presenters. The VIEW also leverages Accordent Capture Station™, the company’s turnkey rich media capture appliance, as a portable solution that NYN production crews can use on-location to create customized rich media presentations.

Core to the VIEW system is the Accordent Media Management System™ (AMMS), which manages all content and users. Highlights of the AMMS include event scheduling, certification tracking, an automated e-mail program (to notify users when new system content is added) and a reporting function for managers and supervisors on the frequency, duration and substance of content viewed by individual users.

The NYN team today will unveil the new system for New York state universities, government agencies and businesses at NYN studios in Albany, and will feature highlights such as:

• Accessibility to content 24x7 through a password-protected, custom-designed portal
• Ability to set automated e-mail staff notification for upcoming training/classes
• Ability to integrate multiple speakers and diverse content in a single webinar
• Ability to print out custom certificates for successful course completion
• Ability to track the frequency and duration content is viewed by individual employees
